Information We Collect
The Academy may collect learner names, certificate names, ages or age ranges, school or institution details, contact information, phone and WhatsApp numbers, application responses, attendance, course activity, support requests, payment/enrollment administration details, and programme communications.
Children and Young People
Where learners are children or young people, YouthLearn Africa expects appropriate parent, guardian, school, or authorised adult consent before participation, media collection, or publication. Safeguarding concerns are handled with restricted access.
Photos, Audio, Video and Evidence
Photographs, audio, video, attendance evidence, session evidence, and learner outputs are used for programme delivery, learning support, reporting, and approved storytelling only when permission has been confirmed. Private evidence is access-controlled and is not intended for public Media Library access.
How Information Is Used
Information is used to review applications, manage school participation, create or support user accounts, manually verify payment/enrollment where relevant, activate Tutor LMS access, monitor attendance, provide learner support, issue certificates, communicate announcements, and prepare approved reports for YouthLearn Africa and authorised partners.
Sharing and Partner Reporting
YouthLearn Africa may share aggregated or necessary programme information with approved partners. Partner observers should not receive unnecessary personal, safeguarding, or sensitive learner details.
Retention and Rights
Records are kept for the period stated in Academy Settings or as required for safeguarding, audit, reporting, and programme accountability. Participants or institutions may contact YouthLearn Africa to request access, correction, withdrawal, or information about retention.
Security
Access is limited to authorised Academy users. Users must protect passwords, avoid sharing accounts, and report suspected unauthorised access promptly.
